Vince_CoverVince Gill, Patty Loveless and Ricky Skaggs attended the funeral for Ralph Stanley in Virginia. Each artist described the mentorship the iconic Bluegrass singer had on each of their lives. Patty Loveless stated, “He was the one that taught me how to sing.” Vince Gill confessed it was Stanley who inspired him to write “Go Rest High on That Mountain.”

“It means the world to me that in some small way I mattered to Ralph,” Gill stated.
