On Saturday night (3/11), Tim McGraw’s set was cut early as the Country music star collapsed on stage in Dublin, Ireland due to severe dehydration.
McGraw had reportedly just finished his song ‘Humble And Kind’ as co-headliner with wife, Faith Hill, at the 3 day C2C ‘Country To Country’ music festival, when he fell to his knees and needed assistance off stage.
A member of the audience, Del Crooks, tells the BBC “I thought he was taking in the applause while sitting down after singing “Humble and Kind.” But when a spotlight was switched on him, he was slumped on his knees on the lefthand side of the stage. The light was quickly turned off, and you could see his crew helping him off — and the band ran over as well.”
Fortunately McGraw is fine and was attended to by local medical staff, however he was unable to come back out and finish the set, a decision made by Hill.
After a 20 minute break she returned to the stage to inform the crowd, “So, Tim is fine. We’ve all been a little bit dehydrated, traveling so much, and he’s been super dehydrated, and I apologize, but I made the decision that he cannot come back out onstage. So drink water, people! Always keep yourself hydrated!”
As the audience erupted into a “We love Tim!” chant, Hill ended the night with the gospel song, “What A Friend We Have In Jesus.”
McGraw and Hill thank everyone for their love and support, and will gear up for a 29-city tour kicking off in Richmond, Virginia on May 31st.
