New band Sons of the Palomino lead by Songwriter Hall of Fame Member Jeffrey Steele made their debut today with a new self-titled album.
“I’m so excited to finally release the Sons of Palomino debut and hear the reaction to this stellar band and the classic performances of some of the greatest country singers of all time,” said Steele.
Steele explains the traditional country music track “Used To Be a Country Town” with the story, “I was texting somebody about a fantastic record I’d heard by a new girl in Nashville. I said, ‘She’s about the best thing I’ve heard in this used-to-be-country town.’ I looked at my text and thought, ‘Whoa, what is that?’ I remember those old honky-tonk days: You’d go into a bar in Texas and see a guy tipping his hat to a lady, buying her a drink or lighting her cigarette. This song captures that essence while making a tongue-in-cheek poke at what’s happening in Nashville these days.”
