LariWhiteSinger/songwriter Lari White is reportedly in hospice care due to an ongoing battle with cancer. Fellow musician and friend, Danny Myrick, posted on his FB profile, “Devastated doesn’t even begin to cover how I feel after learning tonight that my dear friend Lari White Cannon has entered into hospice. Lari is not only one of the sweetest humans I’ve ever met, but also an absolute powerhouse of a talent; an incredible pianist, songwriter, singer and producer, and an even more wonderful human….just an amazing woman. Please join me in lifting up [Husband] Chuck Cannon and their precious family during this extremely difficult time.”

Taste of Country first reported a letter which was published last November on ArtistWorks’ blog about White’s diagnosis which began from an upset stomach. Exploratory surgery revealed that the singer had Peritoneal Cancer.

“Since then a series of complications including pain management, pneumonia and a bowel obstruction requiring emergency surgery has kept me in and out of the hospital fighting for my life. This is, of course, my focus for the foreseeable future.” – (via Lari White post).

A GoFundMe account was began to help White and her singer/songwriter husband Chuck Cannon with medical bills.

“As we all know Lari and Chuck are professional touring musicians who rely on live performances and merchandise sales to pay their bills. Since her diagnosis Lari has been unable to tour and has had very little time to devote to writing, coaching or producing. Chuck has cut back his touring significantly and has devoted himself to caring for Lari as she fights this dreadful disease. Understandably the treatment and time away from their jobs has had a devastating impact on their finances.” via the GoFundMe page.

The couple has reached $73,085 of the $100,000 goal.

Lari White released new music back in 2017 to celebrate her 25th anniversary as an artist. The projects had collaborations with Delbert McClinton, Suzy Bogguss, and Lee Roy Parnell.
