Country legend, Ricky Skaggs, is overjoyed concerning the two GRAMMY® Award wins received by Hillary Scott and The Scott Family at this years 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards for the album Love Remains.
Sunday night, at the GRAMMY® Awards Premiere Ceremony, the group’s album, Love Remains– produced by Skaggs, won in its category of “Best Contemporary Christian Album.” In addition to this win, “Thy Will,” the album’s first single, landed them the award for “Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.”
Skaggs comments: “I’m so happy for Hillary Scott and The Scott Family, everyone gave their whole heart to this project. As we were working on this record we started to realize that this record was working on us. The songs were so powerful. Lots of tears, lots of prayers, and lots of joy. What a great family, what a great record, and what an awesome God we serve!”
Ricky Skaggs has earned 12 #1 hit singles, 14 GRAMMY® Awards, 11 IBMA Awards, nine ACM Awards, eight CMA Awards (includingEntertainer of the Year), two Dove Awards, the ASCAP Founders Award, three honorary Doctorate degrees, inductions into the Musicians Hall of Fame and GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the 2013 Artist-In-Residence at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, an Americana Music Association Lifetime Achievement Award in the Instrumentalist category along with numerous other awards over the course of his career.
