Texas artists like Kacey Musgraves, Pat Green and Eli Young Band have all taken steps to raise money towards relief funds for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. The mentioned artists have made t-shirts that can be purchased on their websites.
EYB made a shirt that reads “Texas Bands Together” on the front and “Harvey Will Not Defeat Us” on the back, and are donating all proceeds to Greater Houston Community Foundation. Kacey Musgraves and Pat Green are donating the proceeds from their previously made Texas shirts to Hurricane Harvey victims as well.
While some artists like William Michael Morgan are holding benefit concerts (American Red Cross), other artists such as Lady Antebellum have also been donating proceeds from merch sales to victims and specific relief funds.
“Watching the resilience and strength of the people in my home state of Texas has been inspiring, as has watching the country come together to help those who have been so devastatingly affected by Hurricane Harvey,” Texas artist Hayes Carll says in a press release. “I know firsthand what it is like to experience loss during a natural disaster and how far any bit of help goes.”
George Strait has announced that he is working on a major relief effort “with the whole country music community.” while Miranda Lambert headed to Texas to help the animals affected by the storm with her MuttNation Foundation.
