Maren Morris wrapped her first headlining tour, the “Hero” tour, this Wednesday night (4/5) at Nashville’s Cannery Ballroom. Morris has spent the last few weeks traveling the country on the tour, bringing it all to a remarkable end with two sold out shows in Music City.
Maren tore the stage up as soon as she stepped on it in her black crop top, high wasted pants, rhinestone choker, and hew brand new bob haircut. She opened the show with a captivating and intoxicating rendition of her album opener, “Sugar,” which prepared the crowd for a night they won’t forget any time soon.
She told the crowd that her and her band are still recovering from a crazy weekend in Vegas at the ACM Awards where she took home the award for New Female Vocalist of the Year. One of the highlights of the show was when Morris performed the three songs recently released on the deluxe edition of her album: “Bummin’ Cigarettes,” “Space,” and “Company You Keep.” Then, she ripped into “80’s Mercedes,” as the crowd erupted in applause and began to sing along.
In addition to performing her album in its entirety, including a Nashville sing along to her single, “Rich,” Maren brought out boyfriend Ryan Hurd to share the stage with her to perform a song they wrote together for Tim McGraw, “Last Turn Home.” Maren had one more surprise in store for her hometown crowd when she brought out Brothers Osborne to sing “Greener Pastures” with them and Hurd.
Morris ended the show with a breathtaking medley of her song, “Second Wind” and a cover of Beyonce’s “Halo,” which had everyone in the crowd in awe as they sang along. She explained that she is about to take some time off to begin writing for her second album, and we can’t wait to hear what she has in store for us next.
