Lori McKenna was surprised with the announcement of winning the ACM Songwriter of the Year from Cam during the ACM Party for a Cause: Songwriter Showcase show on Friday night.
McKenna is the first woman to win the honor at the Academy of Country Music Awards which is in its 52nd year.
Other songwriters who performed the same night included Luke Laird, Ashley Gorley, Hillary Lindsey, Ross Copperman and Shane McAnally.
Miranda Lambert joined Shane McAnally, Matthew Ramsey and Trevor Rosen of Old Dominion on their ACM-nominated song “Vice.”
Dierks Bentley also performed his song “Black,” with fellow cowriters.
