Kelly Clarkson announced this morning that she is leaving her label of 10 years, 19 Records/RCA, to join Atlantic Records. Clarkson is excited to join her new label, which is home to many soul artists, she is planning to put out a new record heavily influenced by soul and r&b. “Everybody’s been asking me to make a soulful record for years,” Clarkson tells fans, “and while we’ve always had soulful influences on my records, we’ve never actually made a soulful record, so that is what Atlantic Records and I are about to do.” Clarkson also announced she launched a new site, KellyClarksonLive.com, where fans can download covers and live videos for free.
