If you were tuned in to last nights 2017 CMT Music Awards, then you certainly are no stranger to the name Keith Urban. The country music super star swept up 4 of the 8 awards given out. Urban graciously and humbly accepted all of these much deserved recognitions.
Urban took home gold in every category he was nominated for–reflecting the hard work he has put into his acclaimed album Ripcord. Not only did Urban and co-songstress and fellow CMT Music Award winner, Carrie Underwood, deliver and incredible performance of their hit song “The Fighter,” but took home a win for it too. The powerful duo accepted the award for Collaborative Video of the Year with no idea that they would continue to sweep the board throughout the evening.
Just after exiting the stage, Urban found himself right back up there accepting yet another award. For his incredible video masterpiece, “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” Urban took home the win for Male Video of the Year. Up against heavy hitters like Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Erich Church, and Thomas Rhett, Urban pulled out on top yet again.
Urban wasn’t done collecting his stash of wins just yet. For his persona online and always favorable fan interaction, Urban took home a win for Social Superstar. From giving fans behind the scenes looks into his music to the everyday life he lives, Urban’s social media persona is funny, relatable, and award-worthy.
Last but not least Urban took to the stage one more time to accept his final award. When it came time to vote for Video of the Year, fans decided that Urban was worthy yet again of a win. Going up against Florida Georgia Line, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Miranda Lambert is no easy feat, but “Blue Ain’t Your Color” prevailed once again.
Congratulations to Keith Urban on sweeping up the wins on the CMT Music Awards. His hard work and dedication to his fans rightfully earned him all 4 awards!
