Kane Brown achieved GOLD status on his hit single, “What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina. The music video has had over 8.5 million views since its release two months ago. On July 17th, RIAA had a surprise celebration at which Kane was honored and received his gold plaque. Kane came to WME thinking a friend of his was being honored
The music video was directed by PR Brown and filmed at the scenic Newport Ranch in Fort Bragg, California.
“It was a beautiful spot and I got to do it with one of my good friends from middle school. It was fun, it was awesome,” Brown said.
Brown said that Alaina was the one that convinced him to start singing. The hit single was written by Brown, Matthew McGinn and Jordan Schmidt. “What Ifs” has dominated the country streaming charts with more than 66 million streams to date. Brown said what inspired the song was him and the writers were talking about the what if questions in a relationship
“We wrote a great song that a lot of people can relate to,” Brown said.
Kane’s self-titled album remains the genre’s best-selling new artist debt of the past two and half years, reaches two career milestones today with his breakout single. Music Row called Brown “one of country music’s most promising newcomers”. The Georgia-native was also selected to Ticketmaster’s first ever New Music Favorite series. Kane is headlining the Monster Energy Outbreak Ain’t No Stopping Us Now and the Hometown Proud Tours. Kane has also earned opening slots for Florida Georgia Line and Jason Aldean.
