It’s officially CMA Music Fest Week, and the Grand Ole Opry kicked the fan fair off in a big way. The Opry stage hosted some of country music’s most beloved artists for its Tuesday night show, including Opry members Bill Anderson, Terri Clark, Chris Janson, Darius Rucker, Ricky Skaggs, and Carrie Underwood. Additionally, newcomer Ashley Mcbride performed at a free Opry Plaza Party on the Humana stage.
Other Opry performances scheduled for Music Fest Week include shows on Thursday (6/7), Friday (6/8) and Saturday (6/9). Among those performing on various shows are Opry members Dailey & Vincent, Oak Ridge Boys, Charley Pride, Blake Shelton, Marty Stuart, and Josh Tuner, as well as special guests Luke Combs, Easton Corbin, Charles Esten and more. The Opry schedule also includes a Saturday matinee performance of Opry Country Classics featuring Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers, Pride and more at the Ryman Auditorium.
On Sunday (6/10) the Opry will stage its first-ever show from the famed Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN featuring Opry members Old Crow Medicine Show, Bobby Bare, Del McCoury Band and Riders In The Sky, as well as Joshua Hedley, LANCO, Nikki Lane and Maggie Rose. The Nashville-based Opry has rarely in its 92-year history taken its iconic show outside Music City, on those occasions visiting prestigious venues such as New York City’s Carnegie Hall and Washington, D.C.’s Kennedy Center.
