CMA-songwriters-logo-pngThe CMA Songwriters Series returns to Nashville at the CMA Theater in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum during CMA Awards Week onThursday, Nov. 3 (7:00 PM/CT, doors at 6:00 PM/CT). This special edition of the CMA Songwriters Series will boast songwriters Gary Burr, Georgia Middleman, Don Schlitz, and Brad and Brett Warren.

Burr has written hits with well-known artists including Garth Brooks, Patty Loveless, Reba, The Oak Ridge Boys, Randy Travis, and many more. He has penned 14 No. 1 songs and been awarded ‘Songwriter of the Year’ byBillboard, Nashville Songwriter’s Association International, and ASCAP.

Middleman’s work has been recorded by Kenny Chesney, Terri Clark, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Joe Nichols, Reba, and countless others. When she’s not writing hits or performing solo, Middleman makes up one third of the trio Blue Sky Riders along with Burr and Kenny Loggins.

Five-time CMA Awards nominee Schlitz has written songs for well-known artists such as Alabama, The Bellamy Brothers, Kenny Rogers, and more. He is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and has taken home three CMA Awards for Song of the Year for “The Gambler” (Rogers), and “On the Other Hand” and “Forever and Ever, Amen” (Travis).

The Warren Brothers have had hits recorded by Dierks Bentley, Hill, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, and more. Brad and Brett Warren are past recipients of CMA’s Triple Play Award given to songwriters who have achieved the feat of having three No. 1 singles in a 12 month period. The brothers were nominated for Song of the Year in 2007 for McBride’s “Anyway.” They were nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year as artists seven years in a row (1999 to 2005).

The CMA Songwriters Series is in its 12th season, kicking off the year at indigo at The O2 in London during the C2C Festival followed by its debut appearance at SXSW at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas, with other stops in New Orleans and Bristol, Va. at The Birthplace of Country Music Museum.

Since 2005, the CMA Songwriters Series has presented more than 90 shows in 15 cities including Austin, Belfast, Chicago, Dublin, London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C. at the renowned Library of Congress. Some of the artists who have been part of the series include Bentley, Clint Black, Kix Brooks, Chesney, Sara Evans, Hunter Hayes, Lady Antebellum, McBride, Kacey Musgraves, Chris Stapleton, Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood, Chris Young, and more.
