Bobby Bare released his brand new album Things Change on Friday (May 26). We chatted with Bare about this new collection plus have an exclusive video of the story behind the song “The Trouble with Angels.” Bare told us that the new album was a happy accident, when producer, singer/songwriter Max T. Barnes inspired the country icon to return into the studio. After recording a cover of Don Williams song “You’re My Best Friend” for his friend, Bare’s collaboration with producer Barnes continued to make a full project.
The album also features Chris Stapleton on Bare’s hit tune “Detroit City.” Bare stated, “We wrote songs together, we all knew how great he (Stapleton) was. I told Chris I said, let me juice up ‘Detroit City’ and you and I will do a duet. Now when I say duet, I mean Everly Brothers style.”
Bare also told us one of his career highlights was his Country Music Hall of Fame Induction. Later this year, Bare will help induct his friend, the late Jerry Reed into the 2017 Country Music Hall of Fame class.
Bare’s tune “The Trouble with Angels,” also has a special story behind the song. You can see more down below. Pick up the album now at www.bobbybare.com.
