BlakeSheltonOn Tuesday (6/6), The 13th Annual Stars for Second Harvest benefit concert packed out the house at the iconic Ryman Auditorium! Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee describes themselves as collectors, sorters, and distributers of “food and personal care products to more than 490 partner agencies throughout 46 Middle and West Tennessee counties.”  They partner alongside local food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, foster homes, and other enrichment programs across Tennessee to provide the necessities of every day life to those who need it the most.

This incredible evening of love and support was hosted by the always talented (and very funny) songwriter, Craig Wiseman. Wiseman, alongside some extremely talented friends, raised a generous amount money for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee so they can continue to provide their incredible services all across Tennessee. Wiseman opened the night with a songwriters round that included the songwriting duo, The Warren Brothers. Collectively, the trio sang a 12 song set that had the audience up and on their feet. The Warren Brothers played hits like “If You’re Reading This,” and the crowd favorite, “Red Solo Cup.” Next up on the list of the star studded lineup was Chris Lane who had the crowd singing every word of his hit, “For Her,” and his country cover of “Let Me Love You.” John Rich, of Big and Rich, took the stage next. He payed homage to the Ryman by covering Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.” Rich took to the audience next and asked what song they’d like to hear–to which he was answered with a collective roar of “Save A Horse Ride A Cowboy.” The real man of the hour was headliner Blake Shelton. Shelton took the stage in his usual cool style to help bring the benefit to an end. Shelton took to the audience too for song suggestions which resulted in him singing crowd favorites, “Ol Red” and “Sangria” which deserved all the cheers it warranted.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee received so much support not only from country music fans, but from people who love people. For every $1 donated to Second Harvest, they provide four meals to those in need. Stars for Second Harvest has raised over 1 Million dollars over the years for the food bank which has provided over 4,000,000 meals across the state of Tennessee.
